Thanksgiving by BreAnn Urbani

Thanksgiving
I value my morals and grades.  Both of these are very important to me and because of my religion I strive to do my best to do the right thing and make decisions that would please God.  This usually works in my advantage as I have a basic outline of how to make decisions and live my life.  My family is Catholic and my parents thought it to be important enough to send me to a Catholic school for nine years.  My grades are also of the upmost importance to me and determine many aspects of my life such as my future and also how much freedom I have.

I am thankful for so much and can barely even begin to list everything that I am fortunate enough to have.  I am thankful that I have a place to sleep with a roof over my head, food to eat, and a loving family with which to call my own.  I am thankful for the fact that I live in the United States of America where I have rights and am not discriminated for my gender, religion, or race.  However I am probably most thankful for the amazing friends that I have who are always there when I need them and have helped me pull through so many rough times in my life.

On Thanksgiving my family and I all go over to my grandma’s house and celebrate with my dad’s side of the family.  I go over the day before and help her cook the vast amount of food for our feast the following day.  Even though only six of us usually have dinner there she makes enough to feed at least twice that many.  My favorite dish that she makes is her homemade meatballs.  My grandma is probably the best cook I’ve ever had the privilege of trying their food.  The following day we have a second celebration at my house with my mom’s side of the family.  My mom and I spend all day cooking and cleaning to prepare and we eat with my grandparents and other relatives.

  2. When you mentioned celebrating another Thanksgiving the following day, we do the same thing except for us it's celebrating a birthday not another Thanksgiving. :)
