What I Value
Music, the word is a glorious melody all by itself. For me music is one of the things in my life that helps me cope with stress and anxiety and anything else that life throws at me. I relate music to everything in my life; boys, what I love, what I don’t like everything that a teenager has to deal with. Another wonderful piece in my life is my friends. I know I can talk to them about anything and they are always right there waiting to have a good time, which is something everybody needs sometimes. My dog CJ, she’s the most amazing puppy ever. Whenever I’ve had an ugly day at school and I walk through my front door, CJ is right there and super happy just because I’m home. Her wiggling body and happy brown eyes take all the stress away for a while. I believe that everybody should be able to have a loving dog in their life.
What I’m thankful for
I am Thankful that everyday God wakes me up to my life. I believe that many teenagers aren’t as thankful as they should be and I try to realize how much God has given me and how he has a plan, that everything happens for a reason. I try to realize how much my parents do for me every day and what I must’ve cost them in medical bills, food, and clothing. My sister and mom are always there when I need to let my feelings out and my dad can always make me laugh. I believe that the words house and home have very different meanings, a house is a building and a home is engulfed in love. I definitely live in a wonderful, beautiful home.
My Thanksgiving Traditions
Every Thanksgiving My mom, dad, sister, dog, and I travel up to Frankenmuth to visit my Grandma’s home. When we walk through the entryway we’re always greeted by a warm fire and hugs and kisses from aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents that we haven’t seen all year. Grandma is so busy bustling around the kitchen and everyone offers to help her but her will to please others refuses them. Aunt Rhonda bakes her famous tiny Reese’s cups surrounded by delicious sugary bread. They are dangerously delicious. My sister, Cousin Kelly and I sneak them into our mouths and steal away to the guest room to catch up on the past year until dinner time. As my dad, Uncle Jeff, Uncle Jim, and Grandpa share stories from past thanksgiving and watch the football game, Mom brings out her scrumptious cheesy potatoes and everyone can smell the creamy cheese mixed with bits of potato chips and squared off potato. We all gather around the kitchen and I say a prayer, afterwards digging in to the delicious food and telling funny stories of past Thanksgivings and more to come.
