Thanksgiving Traditions
Thanksgiving is a holiday that means a lot to my family and I. It's not just a
day of football games, good food, and looking forward to that long nap later. To
us, we just enjoy each others company. Everything else is just an added bonus.
During this special holiday, the thing I value most is my family. Over the past
few years I've heard of people loosing loved one's, saw horrific damages done to
cities because of storms, and lost a loved one of my own. All of this made me
appreciate what I have a little more. It makes me want to cherish these special
holidays. My family is the most important thing in the world to me. We are all
so loud, but fun. We all enjoy being together and have so much fun together.
Obviously, as I stated before, I am very thankful for my family. But I'm also
thankful for the things they do for me. For example, my mother who has always
been there for me, through any problem, through any up or down. If I have a
problem I can go to her and talk about it. On the other hand, my dad is the kind
of guy that can be annoying, but also really fun. My brother is fun to hang out
with, nice and protective. And last but not least, my sister is the person I
hang out with all the time, the person I can go to with a problem. She helps me
with any issue I have. My family means the world to me.
Over Thanksgiving my family has many traditions. But my favorite tradition is
after dinner, when everyone is full. All the kids go into one room and play a
game, or multiple, and the adults stay at the dinner table and chat. The only
down side of that is that it makes time go faster. Which, for me, means less
time with them. My next favorite tradition is when my aunt's bring out all the
different pies. The apple, pumpkin, pecan, cranberry, and cherry, they are all
so delicious, and it’s hard to choose which one you want.

I value my family as well. Glad to see we think alike about that.
