My Thankful Thoughts
In my life I value the importance of close family. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have a family that is as close as mine is. I guess to have a close family; everyone has to have grown up that way. In my family, well mostly on my dads, we are extremely close. My dad has four older siblings that he gets along really well with. I love all of my aunts and uncles and I am very lucky that they are always there for me. My grandparents have twelve grandchildren on that side of the family. Their names are Kali, Julie, Joey, Eileen, Joe, Ben, Claire, Jake, Brendan, Daniel, Abigail, and I. I consider myself the closest with my cousins Julie and Joey. We do almost everything together. I like to think of them like the older siblings that I never had. I can go and talk to them about anything and I feel honored to have them in my life. My whole family is loud and a little obnoxious at times, but what family isn’t? I feel very fortunate to have the family that I do, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
I am thankful that everyone in my family is healthy. A few years ago while we were on our vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina my uncle went into kidney failure. We realized that we were going to have to cut the trip short and my uncle took an emergency flight home. When he got back, he was put on dialysis; this would keep all of his levels normal and keep him alive. Almost three years ago, he received a new kidney. This experience made me be thankful that my family is now healthy and safe. And it made me value how important life really is.
At my house, at Thanksgiving; my family usually goes over to my moms’ side to celebrate. I really enjoy this because I get to spend time with all of my cousins that I don’t get to see usually. Their names are Carter, Chris, Carly, Avery, Andrew, Alexa, and Sophia. They get bigger and bigger every time I see them and I enjoy every minute of it. At dinner, My Uncle John carves the turkey and says grace. The whole dinner is a great time to catch up with all of my aunts and uncles who I haven’t seen in a long time. They always tell me the same thing, “Look how big you’ve gotten!” “I can’t believe how much you look like your mom!” Even though I hear the same things every year, I will always remember how much they care about me and I cherish every time I see them.

i liked this! i love having a close family too. you do have some grammar errors. and when you said "In my family, well mostly on my dads, we are extremely close." did you mean your dads side of the family?
ReplyDeleteMy family can be loud and obnoxius as well, but then again, I can get used to it. And I also hear the "You look just like-" Comments too, but they always say I look just like my dad. XD
ReplyDeleteI am very fortunate for my family too! I also get the same comments you and Joe do! Every year, every holiday!
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for my family as well. Often we take it for granted but not as many kids have stable family enveronments.
