Thanksgiving

When someone asks me what I value, the first thing that comes to mind is my family and friends. Of course I think of the little things such as health, grades, and my home, but my family and friends always seems to come first. My family is an important thing to value because they are the people who support me no matter what and will always be there, by my side. Friends are just as significant. They are the people who know the real you and can make you laugh, and just be happy. I believe that everyone should have a friend because each person needs someone who they can trust or someone who believes in them. I feel it is important to be close to your family and friends because without that bond, you would feel alone. Overall I value my family, my friends, and any other relationships that will be made.

Knowing that Thanksgiving is right around the corner, most people expect to be asked what they are thankful for. Most answers tend to be, “My family, my health and my home.” Of course I am thankful for all of those things, but if I had to choose only one thing to be thankful for, it would be hope. Hope is to believe, desire, or trust. If you believe that everything will turn out okay if you try your hardest, then you will strive to do your best. If you desire better grades, you will most likely work for those grades. Trust…Trust is a key factor in life. Without trust no one would be willing to try new things or go forward in life. Having trust is very important, mainly because without, we would be stuck. In general Hope is what I am most thankful for because it can lead to anything.

Some traditions that my family follows every Thanksgiving are to share the holiday with family, and to, without any question, have turkey. Family brings everyone together, and since the entire family is not together too often, this holiday is another chance to see our loved ones. I would assume that turkey is served in most homes on Thanksgiving so that is just a tradition that we follow easily. Another tradition is to watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade with all six members in my family, in the morning while drinking hot chocolate, eating cinnamon rolls, and sitting by the fire. This way we are all together and share what we are thankful for. In conclusion, I am thankful that I have the ability to spend a holiday with my entire family and to eat a delicious meal that everyone looks forward to all year.

  1. I really liked your first two sentances they were very interesting. The first two sentances seemed like it should be used in the beggining of a movie with a nararator saying it. I also like the sentance when you wrote that you have the tradition that you have turkey but you dont think its a sugnificant tradition. Like I totally laughed out loud!

  2. I think that trust is very important as well. I included it in my paragraphs too.
