It’s the most Wonderful Time of the Year
It’s the most Wonderful Time of the Year Victoria Sill
When purchasing a product I first decide if I need the item or just want it. For example, when buying clothes I ask myself, “Do I have other clothes to complement it or do I already have a similar piece of clothing.” If I decide that it is of use to me, then I go one step further. I value buying quality things at a discount because I am a saver rather than a spender. I have learned that if I wait a week to buy a shirt or shoes then it may go on sale and I will not have to pay the full retail price. By waiting and getting a discount, it gives me the most satisfaction from making a “good deal,” which is what I am really after. When I went to the Coach store, I found a purse that I liked that was regularly priced at about $350 retail. A purse that expensive, I would never consider. However, it happened to be on sale for $250. This caught my interest. I do know that Coach brand is a good quality purse that is worth its high price tag. When I combined the money from a return, I was making with the coupon from the paper and the one they give you at the door, my final price was just about $30. Now that is an awesome deal and it gave me much satisfaction.
I am thankful for spending time with my family and relatives. Every Christmas and Fourth of July, my mom’s side of the family has a get together. These are traditions that have continued for as long as I can remember. Since there are some 75 to 100 relatives on my mom’s side of the family, for our Christmas party we rent a hall. We decorate, bring food, enjoy music, bust a big piñata, and enjoy gifts from Santa. For the annual summer picnic, we rent a pavilion at the Garden City Park. We play picnic games like egg tosses, softball, Frisbee, all kinds of silly games, and lots and lots of food. Because we are outside in a park, there tends to be a lot of goofing around and it is a lot of fun. During these festive times, it gives everyone in the family a chance to catch up with one another and enjoy each other’s company. These gatherings make us much closer to one another since often these are the only times we may see many of these people.
On Thanksgiving Day, my family always gets together at my aunts house and everyone brings a dish to share. We end up with a long buffet that consists of turkey, ham, tamales, beans, rice, potato salad, and green bean casserole, to name a few. Around three o’clock in the afternoon all the food is ready and we eat an early dinner. Then everyone rests. Some of my relatives sit in on couches or easy chairs and watch the Lion’s football game. Some of us are too stuffed to move, so they stay at the table and talk and laugh. Others make our plans for Black Friday. We discuss what stores have the best deals, when each one opens, and what our target items to buy are. Some of the relatives even spend the night so we can get an early start, leaving the men in charge of watching the kids. Hours later, we gather up enough energy to get dessert and maybe even eat dinner again! Overall, it is a very relaxing day.

I think thats a great idea that you think wether you want something or need something before you buy it.
